About Course

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) course is a training program that prepares individuals to work as paraprofessionals in the field of behavior analysis. The course covers topics such as the principles of behavior analysis, ethical and professional conduct, data collection, and behavior change procedures. The course also prepares individuals to take the RBT Competency Assessment and Exam, which are required to obtain the RBT certification from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). The RBT certification is recognized nationally and internationally as a credential for providing behavior-analytic services under the supervision of a qualified behavior analyst.

Eligibilities

To become an RBT, you need to meet the following eligibility criteria: You must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must pass a criminal background check to be completed within 180 days of the RBT application. You must complete a 40-hour RBT training course that covers the RBT Task List (2nd ed.) and is conducted by a qualified instructor. You must complete an initial competency assessment that evaluates your performance of the RBT tasks and ethics code with a client, under the observation of a BCBA or BCaBA.
